travis gilbert
production manager
A finished space should change how a family lives, and Travis has seen it happen. He wants clients to think of FHI as friends, not hired help. That relationship doesn’t end at the final walkthrough. He still visits homes finished years ago to help solve problems.
Travis grew up in Lenexa, Kansas, working alongside his dad in construction and the trades. He tried other careers but kept coming back to building things with his hands. Work in several industries taught him to work well with all kinds of people, and he worked his way up in the trades before joining FHI in 2024. As Production Manager, Travis leads FHI’s team of skilled carpenters and project managers. He splits his time between planning and job site visits, and he takes the late-night call when a client is worried about their project. His biggest impact is on project planning: balancing the team’s capacity so every job is set up to succeed. On one outdoor living project where nearly everything went wrong, his team adapted until the clients were thrilled, and they later brought FHI back to remodel their basement. He is a member of Remodelers Advantage and joins its roundtables with production leaders from across the country.
Travis and his wife Aly have two sons, and they’re often out cruising the neighborhood in one of their many toys. He is active in his neighborhood and always ready to help with a project. He hits golf balls, cooks for big groups and shares a large garden with two other families.
